JOB DESCRIPTION
Accountable to:
Keeping Vinton Steel, LLC information technology network, computer systems and sensitive information secure in accordance to standard. It recommends, develops and maintains best policies, procedures and practices for the security and integrity of the computer systems ensuring that Vinton Steel’s business operations and processes are executed effectively and efficiently meeting current business needs while identifying opportunities that support future growth and sustainability agendas.
Responsibilities:
Communicating project status and anticipating the unknown; Monitors computer networks for security issues
- Investigates security breaches and other cyber security incidents
- Advanced knowledge in administration and maintenance of security measures and software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs
- Documents security breaches and assess any damages caused
- Performs tests and uncover network vulnerabilities
- Recommends and develops best practices for IT security
- Researches and recommends security enhancements
- Analyze, resolve, and maintain both hardware and software for reliable networks, email, desktops, and telecommunications
- Interact with end-users via phone, email, or message to resolve technical issues
- Negotiate and manage contracts, while evaluating the performance of service providers as if an extension of staff;
- Be an effective Project Manager, with the proven ability to manage all aspects of the project, including; documenting scope, prioritizing project tasks, establishing milestones
- Provide leadership in fostering an organizational culture that supports the business strong focus on safety, IT alignment with business needs, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement, innovation and excellence
- Other related duties as assigned
- Provides help desk duties to end users
- Duties will not be limited to office work, but will involve being in the actual plant
- PPE will be required while on plant premises
Skills and Requirements:
- Ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with other employees, department heads and various departments.
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Knowledge of information security engineering methods and technologies for IT infrastructure, web, mobility, and WAN and LAN networking
- Knowledge of TCP/IP and other network protocols
- Knowledge of VPN (Site-to-site and remote)
- Knowledge of researching and analyzing information security technologies and processes to meet complex operational needs
- Understand patch management
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Background education in an Information technology field.
- 5+ years experience managing in an information technology environment;
- Experience in an industrial setting;
- Experience managing a 24/365 day operations support department;
- Understanding of network and workstation hardware, wide and local area network architecture, operating systems and business software;
- Project management skills, including past experience in implementation of replacement
- hardware and software business solutions;
- Experience with manufacturing systems and their relationship to business systems;
*SAP experience a plus
Position Accountability to VPO:
1. Comply with stated safety standards, Job Standard Operating Procedures and guidelines, company rules, etc
2. Identify and report hazards to their supervisor or the safety officer
3. Use PPE and/or clothing as instructed, when required
4. Inspect and maintain their PPE as required
5. Immediately report any work related injury or illness, no matter how small or slight, to their supervisor
6. Report any suspected or actual exposures to chemicals or hazardous materials to their supervisor
7. Report all property damage incidents to their supervisor
8. Give due consideration to their personal safety and the safety of fellow workers while performing assigned tasks
9. Actively participate in the safety committee or a subcommittee.
10. Do not perform any unsafe actions. This includes failing to accomplish certain tasks directed by supervision and/or management if the employee believes the task will cause him/her serious injury or death. Management will accommodate with this issue and work to resolve the employee’s concerns. Ultimately, management has the obligation to provide a safe workplace.
Selected candidate will be asked to successfully pass a drug test, background check, HPE and physical.

Pay: From $58,000.00 per year
