About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated Part-Time Team Lead (Keyholder) to guide our store team during non-peak business hours. This is a leadership position at Top Ten Liquors where you’ll be the go-to when an assistant manager or store manager isn’t present. You’ll be in charge of ensuring strong sales performance, smooth operations, and an exceptional customer experience. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the Team: Set the tone during your shifts, leading by example and guiding team members to deliver outstanding customer experiences.
- Drive Sales: Actively engage customers, promote current specials and high-margin items, and coach team members to meet sales goals and upsell when appropriate.
- Open and Close the Store: Perform opening and/or closing responsibilities as scheduled, including keyholder duties, cash handling, store security, and shift handoff communication.
- Support Daily Operations: Ensure the floor is stocked, clean, and ready for customers. Prioritize and delegate daily tasks, keeping service and efficiency top of mind.
- Customer Service Excellence: Be a visible, approachable leader on the sales floor. Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
- Uphold Standards: Enforce store policies, ensure ID checks are done properly, and maintain compliance with all alcohol laws and company procedures.
- Communication: Keep store leadership informed of any issues, opportunities, or needs that arise during your shift.
Qualifications
- Previous retail experience required; leadership or keyholder experience strongly preferred
- 21+ years of age
- Proven ability to drive sales and coach others to do the same
- Comfortable with POS systems, cash handling, and basic store operations
- Strong communicator and team motivator
- Available to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
- A desire to learn, grow, and move into higher leadership roles
Availability Requirements
- Must be available for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
- Required to keep at least one weekend day (Saturday or Sunday) completely open with no restrictions on hours or availability.
- Flexibility to work evenings and additional weekend hours as store needs dictate.
Physical Requirements
To perform the essential functions of this job, an individual must be able to meet the following physical demands with or without reasonable accommodation:
- Frequently standing and walking, sometimes for extended periods
- Regularly lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds
- Occasionally lifting/moving up to 50 pounds
- Reaching overhead and below the waist
- Bending, kneeling, or crouching as needed
- Using hands and fingers to handle merchandise, operate point-of-sale systems, and complete cleaning tasks
Working Conditions
- Fast-paced retail environment, especially during weekends and holidays
- Frequent standing, walking, and interacting with customers during peak hours
- Occasional exposure to cold temperatures while stocking coolers
- Noise levels consistent with retail store settings
- May involve working alone during certain shifts (e.g., early opens or late closes)
