Independent Field Service Technician (1099)
Job Summary
We’re looking for experienced independent Field Service Technicians to install, replace, and service retail technology at restaurant and retail locations. Technicians are assigned projects within their service area and are responsible for completing work professionally and documenting each job.
Responsibilities
- Install and replace POS systems
- Install payment terminals and peripherals
- Install receipt printers and cash drawers
- Perform basic network and Wi-Fi equipment setup
- Complete hardware upgrades and replacements
- Troubleshoot basic technology issues
- Take photos and submit completion reports
- Communicate job status with the project coordinator
- Provide excellent customer service onsite
Experience Needed
- 2+ years of field service, retail technology, or IT installation experience
- Experience installing POS systems or retail technology
- Basic networking knowledge (routers, switches, Ethernet)
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware issues
- Reliable vehicle and valid driver’s license
- Own basic hand tools and smartphone
- Ability to travel to customer locations
Preferred Experience
- Restaurant or retail technology deployments
- Experience with systems such as Toast, NCR, Oracle MICROS, PAR, Clover, or Square
- Low-voltage or structured cabling experience
- CompTIA A+ or Network+ certification (preferred, not required)
Pay: $35.00 - $50.00 per hour
Work Location: On the road
