The Pool Attendant / Public Area Cleaning Technician at Castle Kanaloa at Kona maintains the cleanliness, safety, and appearance of the property's three pool areas, amenities, and outdoor public spaces. This role provides excellent customer service to owners, residents, and guests while enforcing pool rules, treating pool chemicals, maintaining pool furniture and supplies, and assisting with light housekeeping in pool and recreation areas.
We're seeking an energetic, detail-oriented individual with expertise in pool maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, and outdoor cleaning to help uphold our high standards of quality and guest satisfaction.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet owners, residents, and guests in a friendly and professional manner.
- Provide information regarding pool hours, facility rules, and property amenities.
- Respond promptly to guest requests and concerns and escalate issues to management when appropriate.
- Promote a safe and welcoming environment throughout all pool facilities.
- Conduct routine inspections of all three pool areas throughout the day.
- Ensure pool decks, furniture, cabanas, umbrellas, and recreational areas are clean and orderly.
- Arrange and straighten lounge chairs, tables, and umbrellas.
- Remove towels, trash, and debris from pool and surrounding areas.
- Empty trash receptacles and replenish supplies as needed.
- Responsible for the safe handling, testing, and application of pool chemicals in accordance with manufacturer instructions and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
- Report maintenance issues, equipment malfunctions, and safety hazards immediately.
- Observe pool conditions and report concerns regarding water clarity, chemical odors, or equipment operation.
- Other tasks as required.
Qualifications
- Must possess a current Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification (or equivalent) or obtain certification within a specified period after hire, as required by company policy.
- Minimum of at least two (2) years of hotel or condominium common area cleaning and pool attendant experience or an equivalent amount of experience in related areas. Must be able to lift at least 75 pounds.
- CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred or ability to obtain certification.
Education
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination.
Pay: $22.00 per hour
