The Cabinet Vision Software Expert is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing Cabinet Vision projects from design through production. This position works closely with sales, engineering, project management, and manufacturing to ensure projects are accurately engineered, efficiently programmed, and ready for fabrication.
Key Responsibilities
- Create detailed production drawings using Cabinet Vision.
- Develop and modify Cabinet Vision standards, libraries, and construction methods.
- Generate CNC-ready machining programs and optimize manufacturing workflows.
- Build and maintain intelligent catalogs, assemblies, materials, hardware, and machining operations.
- Review architectural drawings and customer specifications for manufacturability.
- Coordinate with project managers and production teams to resolve engineering challenges.
- Ensure production documentation is accurate, complete, and released on schedule.
- Improve automation and streamline engineering processes.
- Troubleshoot Cabinet Vision software issues and recommend workflow improvements.
- Train and mentor engineering staff on Cabinet Vision best practices.
- Maintain consistency with company standards and quality expectations.
- Collaborate with production to continuously improve manufacturing efficiency.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience using Cabinet Vision in a professional woodworking or cabinetry environment.
- Strong understanding of custom cabinetry and architectural millwork construction.
- Experience creating and modifying Cabinet Vision standards and UCS (User Created Standards).
- Experience programming CNC routers and nested-based manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of woodworking materials, hardware, joinery, and manufacturing processes.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and shop drawings.
- Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work across multiple departments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-end residential or commercial millwork.
- Knowledge of Screen-to-Machine workflows.
- Experience with Cabinet Vision, 20/20, AutoCAD, Microvellum, or other CAD/CAM software.
- Understanding of ERP/MRP systems.
- Lean manufacturing or process improvement experience.
