We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. In this role, you will work closely with the dentist to provide exceptional care to young patients, ensuring a positive and comfortable experience during their dental visits. The ideal candidate will be friendly, organized, and have a passion for working with children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the dentist during exams, treatments, and procedures ensuring the comfort of our young patients
- Prepare and sterilize dental instruments, equipment, and operatory rooms in accordance with infection control protocols
-Take and process dental x-rays, educate patients and their families on oral hygiene, preventative care and post op treatment instructions
- Maintain accurate patient records, including charting treatment and updating medical history
- Help maintain patient flow by preparing hygiene and operatory areas ensuring the next patient is ready for care
- Provide chairside assistance to the dentist during hygiene exams and dental procedures ensuring instruments and materials are ready and available
- Ensure children feel comfortable during their visit by using positive reinforcement and child-friendly communication
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work space by following infection control protocols and OSHA guidelines
Qualifications:
- Dental Assistant License or Certificate
- Minimum of 1 year experience in a dental office
- Knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
- Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to a positive office atmosphere
