Paralegal Studies Program Director

Generations College is seeking a full-time Program Director for the Paralegal Studies Program. Founded in 1904, Generations College is Chicago's first and finest private, nonprofit college, offering premier business, legal, and professional programs. Generations College received 10-year accreditation from HLC in 2025, and will be offering bachelor's degrees in selected programs beginning Fall 2026.
The Paralegal Studies Program Director reports to the Dean of Academic Affairs and is responsible for ensuring the quality, integrity, and growth of the Paralegal Studies program. The program prepares students for careers as paralegals in law firms, corporate legal departments, government agencies, and nonprofit organizations.
Instruction
- Serve as a model of teaching excellence, supporting the mission, vision, and values of Generations College.
- Teach 15 credit hours per semester in Fall, Spring, and Summer.
Program Administration
- Recruit, hire (with approval of the Dean of Academic Affairs), supervise, and evaluate adjunct faculty.
- Assign faculty to courses each semester and provide the College's syllabus template.
- Collect and review syllabi for all program courses, ensuring alignment with academic standards.
- Map curriculum to program outcomes and College competencies; ensure course syllabi specify how courses meet outcomes.
- Conduct regular assessment of courses and program outcomes; record data-based improvements in annual assessment reports.
- Make ongoing, data-driven updates to curriculum and program offerings to achieve program excellence.
- Research, develop, and implement new programs that advance student knowledge and career prospects.
- Implement and annually review the program strategic plan, recommending updates as needed.
- Work with the Dean of Academic Affairs to update academic policies, maintain the e-catalog, identify student support needs, and develop new courses.
- Maintain standards for HLC accreditation and participate in the institutional reaccreditation process.
- Maintain standards for ABA approval and prepare and maintain documentation for the re-approval process and site visit.
- Lead discipline-specific accreditation and implement best practices in the program.
- Develop and maintain an active advisory board and community feedback mechanism.
- Support professional development for adjunct faculty in collaboration with the Dean of Academic Affairs.
- Review program marketing materials.
- Participate in student orientation, admissions events, staff meetings, and retreats.
- Remain professionally active in the discipline and in teaching and learning.

Student Support and Advising
- Provide academic advising and career guidance to students in the program.
- Develop appropriate experiential learning opportunities for students.
- Meet with students who have academic issues unresolved through instructor discussions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
- Juris Doctorate (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution.
- Prior Paralegal Studies teaching experience.
- Demonstrated commitment to Generations College's culture of integrity, innovation, collaboration, and student success.
Preferred
- Experience in academic administration and/or teaching in a higher education setting.
- Experience with online learning, including Canvas and Ellucian.
- Experience using student information systems and academic support platforms such as Google Drive, DocuSign, or similar tools.

Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $60,000 - $65,000
Schedule: Monday–Friday with occasional evenings and weekends
Work Location: Hybrid (Chicago, IL) — in office Tuesday–Thursday; remote Monday and Friday.
Pay: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
