Position Summary:
The Industrial Maintenance Mechanic/Electrician is responsible for performing a broad spectrum of electrical and mechanical maintenance functions to assure safe and continuous operations.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
A. Select vendor, negotiate price and order parts; maintain equipment records.
B. Design and build custom equipment; rebuild machinery and make improvements to existing machinery.
C. Design, build and wire control panels; troubleshoot equipment; rewire circuits and run conduit.
D. Perform basic machinist duties; operate milling machine.
E. Perform basic welding and pipefitting duties.
F. Perform preventative maintenance activities to include updated schedule/spreadsheet of such.
G. Identify external contractors for major equipment repair.
H. Determine maintenance priorities.
I. Serve on an on-call basis, responding to emergency maintenance needs.
J. Make basic electronic repairs.
Skills, Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:
- Education: Associates Degree, Industrial Engineering
- Experience: Seasoned level of broad maintenance and mechanical experience.
- Computer skills including MS Office Suite and programmable controllers.
- In-depth electrical maintenance skills.
- Production/Fab setups.
- Mechanical skills.
- Basic welding and pipefitting skills.
- Ability to read blueprints and schematics.
- Demonstrated initiative and ability to work without close supervision.
- Shop math skills.
- Understanding of hydraulics.
- Written and oral communication skills; Interpersonal skills to work well within a team environment.
- Demonstrated flexibility: high requirement for multi-tasking and willingness to perform broad spectrum of maintenance duties.
- In-depth troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions:
- The hours are generally normal business hours Monday to Friday, in addition to being on-call, responding to emergency maintenance needs during other shifts. Some weekend work may be required.
- Able to work in a manufacturing environment with dust, moderate noise, and seasonal temperatures. May be exposed to other hazards and must take proper precautions. May experience prolonged periods of sitting, standing, or walking, along with repetitive wrist, hand, or finger movement. Must be able to reach over shoulder heights, bend, climb, or stoop below the waist and may need to push up to 50 lbs. and assist co-workers with heavier loads up to 200 lbs.
Travel Requirements: Some domestic travel may be required (less than 10%)
