Responsibilities
- Operate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, and auto scrubbers to restore floors and surfaces to their best condition
- Use ladders safely for high-reach cleaning tasks, ensuring proper handling and stability at all times
- Perform manual handling of heavy cleaning supplies, equipment, and debris with proper technique to prevent injury
- Apply personal protective equipment (PPE) consistently to safeguard against hazards during outdoor work or industrial cleaning tasks
- Conduct thorough cleaning of floors using appropriate methods including sweeping, mopping, buffing for various surfaces
- Utilize hand tools for detailed cleaning or repairs around the facility, ensuring all work adheres to safety protocols
- Follow safety procedures diligently, including use of fire extinguishers when necessary, and maintain compliance with OSHA standards for industrial environments
- Complete routine inspections of work areas to identify maintenance needs such as duct cleaning or floor repairs
- Assist with outdoor work projects like pressure washing building exteriors or outdoor walkways to enhance curb appeal and safety
- Maintain all cleaning equipment properly, performing regular checks and reporting any malfunctions or repairs needed
Qualifications
- Prior experience in industrial or commercial cleaning is preferred; familiarity with outdoor work environments is a plus
- Ability to operate ladders safely and confidently at various heights
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques using hand tools, pressure washers, and floor buffing machines
- Comfortable handling heavy lifting tasks related to supplies or equipment while following manual handling best practices
- Strong understanding of safety protocols including PPE use, fire extinguisher operation, and hazard awareness
- Excellent customer service skills when interacting with facility staff or visitors regarding cleanliness standards
- Ability to follow detailed instructions for equipment use and safety procedures accurately
- Willingness to perform physically demanding tasks in diverse weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude
