Duties
- Prepare ingredients through proper slicing, dicing, and portioning using knife skills and slicing techniques to ensure consistency and quality.
- Follow recipes accurately to maintain menu integrity and presentation standards.
- Assist in meal preparation by cooking dishes according to established procedures and safety standards in the food industry.
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, fryers, mixers, and food processors safely and efficiently.
- Maintain cleanliness by cleaning workstations, utensils, and equipment regularly to uphold food safety management standards.
- Collaborate with kitchen staff through clear communication to ensure smooth workflow during busy service times.
- Support menu planning efforts by suggesting improvements or modifications based on ingredient availability or guest preferences.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or culinary environments is highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of food safety practices and handling procedures.
- Demonstrated knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques.
- Experience with food preparation, cooking methods, and operating kitchen equipment.
- Familiarity with dietary department or dietary aide experience is a plus.
- Ability to follow recipes precisely and adhere to safety standards in production.
- Excellent communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen environment.
- Catering experience or background in the food industry is advantageous but not required.
