Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Financial Analyst to support our finance and accounting operations. This position will work closely with senior finance leadership (currently reporting directly to the CEO on an interim basis, pending appointment of a Director of Finance) and will be responsible for financial reporting, account reconciliation, payroll processing, data analysis, and maintaining accurate financial records.
The ideal candidate is comfortable working with numbers, Excel, QuickBooks, and financial reports and has a strong understanding of basic accounting principles. This role requires accuracy, organization, confidentiality, and the ability to independently manage recurring financial responsibilities and deadlines.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly financial reports, spreadsheets, and internal finance trackers.
- Process and submit company payroll accurately and on schedule, including reviewing payroll information for accuracy prior to submission.
- Maintain and reconcile transactions in QuickBooks, ensuring financial records are complete and properly categorized.
- Perform bank, credit card, and other account reconciliations and research discrepancies as needed.
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable, including reviewing invoices, payments, deposits, and outstanding balances.
- Track company cash flow, incoming and outgoing payments, client funding, transfers, and other financial activity.
- Initiate outgoing payments, wires, or transfers only with secondary written approval from the CEO or an authorized controller; no single individual may both initiate and approve a fund transfer.
- Support periodic reconciliation and account reviews conducted by an outside controller or CPA as an added internal control.
- Review financial and operational reports for discrepancies, missing information, duplicate transactions, and unusual activity.
- Compare financial records, supporting documentation, and account balances to identify and resolve inconsistencies.
- Prepare financial summaries and supporting reports for management review.
- Assist with month-end and year-end accounting and reconciliation activities.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of invoices, payments, payroll, transfers, client activity, and other financial documentation.
- Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, financial forecasting, and variance analysis as needed.
- Maintain supporting documentation for financial transactions, reconciliations, audits, and internal reporting.
- Work with internal departments to obtain missing information and resolve accounting or reporting discrepancies.
- Follow established accounting procedures and internal financial controls.
- Maintain strict confidentiality when handling company, client, employee, payroll, and financial information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field preferred.
- Previous experience in financial analysis, accounting, bookkeeping, or a related finance position preferred.
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial reconciliation.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting software preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, sorting, filtering, data organization, and working with multiple worksheets.
- Strong analytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to identify discrepancies and investigate financial information.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage recurring deadlines.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Dependable, professional, and comfortable working with confidential financial and employee information.
- Successful completion of a background check prior to start date, given this role's access to company and client funds.

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
