The grounds technician does mowing and trimming of all lawns. Help maintain flower beds, shrubs, and trees. Operate snow removal equipment and help with the maintenance of such equipment.
- The grounds technician safely operate lawn equipment. (Tractor, ZTR mowers, gas trimmers, power-rake, edgers and etc.)
- The grounds technician will safely operate snow removal equipment (snow blowers, tractor, ZTR machine) and remove some snow by hand shoveling.
- Use a walkie-talkie unit to communicate with other staff.
- Respond to emergency needs and communicate effectively with residents and staff.
- Drive a company vehicle to haul materials or to pick up parts.
- Repair lawn equipment.
- Prune trees, shrubs, and roses.
- Help properly plant trees, shrubs, and flowers.
- Help operate sprinkler systems, install new systems, and repair existing system.
- Properly and safely apply fertilizer and other chemicals as needed.
- Install and remove Christmas lights using ladders and other equipment.
- Use and safely operate sprayer equipment for applying chemicals.
- Weed and maintain flower beds.
- Cultivate around trees.
- The grounds technician will maintain and service company vehicles.
- Lift, load, move, and unload resident's belongings when requested.
- When requested, change air conditioner filters and work with the filter media.
- The grounds technician will assist maintenance staff when required.
- The grounds technician will assist refurbishing staff when required.
- Follow federal, state, and organizational regulations and guidelines, including resident rights.
- Complete other job duties as assigned.
