We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team at Unionville Elementary & Lightfoot as an Instructional Assistant - Computer Aide. This full-time position involves supporting teachers and students in the integration of technology into the classroom. The ideal candidate will be passionate about education and technology, with a commitment to fostering a positive learning environment for all students.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in the preparation and delivery of instructional materials and technology resources to enhance student learning.
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students in using computer software and educational technology tools.
- Help maintain and troubleshoot classroom technology, including computers, tablets, and other digital devices.
- Collaborate with teachers to develop and implement technology-related lesson plans and activities.
- Monitor student progress and provide feedback to teachers regarding student engagement and understanding of technology-related concepts.
- Organize and maintain a clean and efficient technology workspace, ensuring all equipment is in good working order.
- Assist in the training of students and staff on the use of various educational software and applications.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational technology trends and best practices.
- Support the overall mission and goals of Unionville Elementary by fostering a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; an associate degree or higher in education, technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational setting is highly desirable.
- Strong proficiency in computer applications, educational software, and technology tools.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, students, and parents.
- Patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude towards student learning and technology integration.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with current educational technology trends and tools is a plus.
- Background check and clearance as required by school district policies.
