Duties
- Measure and cut insulation materials accurately according to blueprint specifications and project requirements
- Install different types of insulation such as fiberglass, foam board, spray foam, and mineral wool in walls, attics, basements, and crawl spaces
- Use hand tools and power tools safely to cut, fit, and secure insulation materials
- Follow safety protocols diligently, including proper ladder use and power tool safety procedures
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, and blueprints to ensure precise installation aligned with project plans
- Collaborate with carpenters, roofers, HVAC technicians, and other trades to coordinate insulation work within larger construction projects
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing tools and disposing of debris responsibly
- Communicate effectively with clients and team members to clarify project details or address concerns
Experience
- Prior construction experience or background in building trades such as carpentry, roofing, or masonry is highly desirable
- Familiarity with construction estimating and reading blueprints or technical drawings is a plus
- Hands-on experience with installation of building insulation or related materials is preferred
- Knowledge of safety protocols related to ladder use, power tools, scaffolding, and working at heights is essential
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations are required
- Experience working on construction sites with adherence to safety standards enhances your suitability for this role
- Mechanical knowledge related to HVAC systems or metal stud framing can be advantageous
