General Summary
Maintains needed medications, supplies and equipment; maintains statistical data; coordinates educational materials for patients. Provides patient care as needed during dental clinics.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Prioritizes work according to mission of Clinic

Greet patients cheerfully

Assists dentist with all procedures
-
Prepares rooms for procedures and clean rooms after all procedures
-
Maintains sterilization – tracking of changing cold sterile monthly and disinfecting ultrasonic daily
-
X-ray patients and charting of any existing work and/or missing teeth
-
Assists dental hygienist with setting up and cleaning rooms for procedures
-
Maintains x-ray machine
-
Notes in patient charts work completed or work still to be done
-
Educates patients on importance of oral health and answer any questions from patients
-
Calls in prescriptions for patients per dentist orders
-
Requests and maintains all patient records from other dental offices
-
Orders and stocks all equipment and supplies
-
Communicates with dental lab regarding pickups and deliveries
-
Coordinates with receptionist regarding scheduling and appropriate charges for service

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Graduated from an accredited high school or GED equivalent

Registered Dental Assistant with a current Texas license

Minimum of 3 years acute care experience
