At 838 Strength & Fitness, we're more than a gym—we're a boutique personal training studio that helps adults 35+ get stronger, lose weight, reduce pain, and improve their quality of life through individualized coaching and small-group personal training. We're looking for a friendly, motivated, and dependable team member to become the face of our studio. This role combines front desk operations, customer service, sales, and administrative responsibilities, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working with people and helping others achieve their goals.
What You'll DoMember Experience & Customer Service
- Welcome members and guests while creating an outstanding first impression
- Build positive relationships with members and help foster a welcoming community atmosphere
- Deliver exceptional customer service both in person and over the phone
- Ensure members have a positive experience from their first interaction through ongoing membership
Sales & Lead Follow-Up
- Answer phone, text, email, and social media inquiries
- Conduct introductory phone calls with prospective clients
- Follow up with leads, consultations, and trial sessions
- Help prospective members choose the program that best fits their goals
- Support membership enrollment and retention efforts
Scheduling & Administration
- Schedule consultations, assessments, and training sessions
- Maintain client accounts and scheduling software
- Process and update member information as needed
- Assist with administrative tasks and office organization
- Keep accurate records and ensure smooth daily operations
Studio Operations
- Keep the front desk clean, organized, and running efficiently
- Assist with light facility upkeep and presentation
- Support coaches and staff to ensure an exceptional member experience
What We're Looking For

- Excellent communication skills, both in person and over the phone
- Comfortable building relationships and talking with new people
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to learn new software quickly
- Dependable, self-motivated, and capable of multitasking
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Sales or customer service experience is a plus, but we're willing to train the right candidate
Preferred Experience
Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful but not required:
- Customer service
- Front desk or reception
- Sales
- Administrative support
- Fitness, health, or wellness industry experience
Schedule Requirements
Part-time applicants must be able to work a minimum of 20 hours per week and be available for 3–5 shifts per week, with shifts typically ranging from 4–6 hours in length.
Candidates should have availability during either morning or evening hours, with flexibility to work both preferred but not required initially. Applicants who can consistently commit to their scheduled 3–5 shifts each week will be strongly considered. Saturday availability is a plus.
