As our CNC Mills Set-Up Operator - 2nd Shift, you will be part of our world-class manufacturing company with a 92-year history of making essential machinery needed in vital industries. You will set up and operate various machine tools daily to produce mechanical parts and instruments. This role requires knowledge of mechanics, mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures, working with close tolerances on cast iron and stainless steel.
Tasks
- Analyze part dimensions and measure tolerances using micrometers and other measuring devices.
- Machine parts to specifications, using CNC milling machines.
- Set up, adjust, or operate basic or specialized machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
- Align and secure work-holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, or materials into machines.
- Use precision measuring devices to measure, examine, and check for defects to ensure conformance to specifications.
- Utilizeknowledge of blueprints, drawings, and models.
- Monitoring gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure quality control.
- Utilize equipment systems and processes to direct physical activity to handle, install, position, manipulate, and move objects and parts.
This role requires:
- Ability to verify parts conformity using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and other gauges.

Experience And Education
- 3 years of experience working with CNC machines is preferred
- 1 year of setup experience, preferred, including a selection of speeds and feeds
- Post-Secondary Certificate - awarded for training completed after high school; High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
Position is 40 hours, Monday - Thursday, 2:30pm - 1:00am
