Community Support Day Hab Direct Support Staff – Part-Time
The Lafayette County Board of Sheltered Services (LCBSS) Community Support Day Program is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and compassionate individual to join our team as a part-time Direct Support Staff member!
In this role, you will provide direct support to one or more individuals with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities, helping them build independence, confidence, and valuable skills as they participate in meaningful activities both at our day program and throughout the community.
What You'll Do
Our Community Support Day staff help individuals develop everyday skills and become more confident and independent in their communities. Activities may include:
- Practicing counting, money management, and other daily living skills
- Building reading and writing skills
- Participating in exercise and activities that promote personal confidence and wellness
- Gardening and other hands-on activities
- Learning and practicing cooking skills
- Developing personal and community safety skills
- Exploring community services, businesses, and activities through positive community outings
- Encouraging social skills, community participation, and positive interactions with others
Every day is a little different, and you'll have the opportunity to make a positive difference while helping the individuals we support learn, grow, and enjoy being active members of their community.
Schedule
Part-Time | 1–2 days per week
8:15 AM – 3:15 PM
Qualifications
Applicants must:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a High School Diploma or Equivalent Certificate
- Have a valid Driver's License, with the ability to obtain a Class E license within 30 days of hire.
- Be willing to complete a criminal background check, driving history check, and drug screening
- Complete all required LCBSS employment and application forms
