Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Inventory & Shipping Specialist to join our team. In this vital role, you will maintain accurate inventory records and ensure the efficient receipt, storage, packaging, and shipment of products. This role supports production and operational activities by coordinating inventory transactions, monitoring stock levels, and preparing shipments in a timely and accurate manner. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing or warehouse environment.
Inventory Management
- Maintain accurate inventory records using ERP, MRP, or warehouse management systems.
- Perform routine cycle counts and physical inventory audits.
- Receive and verify incoming materials, parts, and supplies against purchase orders and packing slips.
- Identify and report inventory discrepancies to management (shortages, overages or damaged goods).
- Organize and maintain inventory storage areas for efficiency and safety.
- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of shortages or reorder needs.
- Label, track, and store materials according to company procedures.
Shipping & Receiving
- Prepare and package outgoing shipments to ensure safe delivery.
- Coordinate shipments with carriers (Government Portals, UPS, FedEx, LTL, freight providers, and customer-arranged transportation.
- Generate shipping labels, bills of lading, packing slips, and other required documentation.
- Verify outgoing shipments for accuracy and completeness.
- Load and unload trucks using forklifts or other material handling equipment as required.
- Process incoming and outgoing shipments in company systems.
Operational Support
- Support production and operations teams by fulfilling Work Orders.
- Maintain clean and organized shipping, receiving, and inventory areas.
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards.
- Assist with process improvements to increase inventory accuracy and shipping efficiency.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Basic Qualifications/Education/Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in inventory control, shipping/receiving, warehouse, or logistics.
- Experience in shipping software such as UPSD WorldShip, FedEx Ship Manager, and ERP/MRP systems such as Infor Visual.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Basic math and data entry skills required.
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and move throughout the shift.
- Ability to operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely.
- Manual dexterity required for packaging and handling materials.
