Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Pipefitter to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing piping systems across various construction sites and industrial facilities. Your expertise will ensure that plumbing, HVAC, fire sprinkler systems, and pipeline infrastructure meet all safety standards and project specifications. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects while honing your craft in a fast-paced environment.
*This is a local Job for the Greater Richmond, VA market. There is NO Per Diem
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately assemble piping systems
- Cut, thread, bend, and install pipes using hand tools, power tools, and pipe threading equipment
- Perform welding tasks including MIG (Metal Inert Gas), FCAW (Flux Cored Arc Welding), TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), and <LOCATION> welding techniques to join pipe sections securely
- Fit fire sprinkler systems and HVAC piping according to ASME codes & standards while adhering to safety protocols
- Use calipers, schematics, and basic math skills to measure materials precisely for accurate installation
- Rigging pipes for lifting and positioning using appropriate equipment on construction sites or manufacturing facilities
- Conduct maintenance, soldering, tube bending, and assembly of piping components as needed for ongoing projects
Experience
- Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within construction or manufacturing environments
- Skilled in MIG welding, FCAW, TIG welding, and <LOCATION> welding techniques
- Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, schematics, and mechanical principles related to piping systems
- Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to pipeline installation and maintenance
- Hands-on experience with hand tools, power tools, pipe threading machines, calipers, and rigging equipment
- Construction site experience working on commercial or industrial projects involving plumbing, HVAC systems, or fire sprinkler fitting
- Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately and perform precise measurements using calipers or other measuring devices
