Position Overview:
The Accounting Specialist provides accounting support across multiple areas of finance, specific to accounts payable, vendor application completions and certificates of insurance requests and financial reporting tasks. This role assists with audits and participates in process improvements.
Responsibilities:

Process a higher volume of transactions and perform account reconciliations with minimal supervision.

Research, track, and resolve moderate financial discrepancies and customer/vendor issues.

Assist with preparation of monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial reports.

Support internal and external audit processes by preparing documentation and schedules.

Train and mentor junior Accounting Specialists or clerical staff on standard processes and systems.

Assist with system implementations, upgrades, and financial process improvements.

Monitor compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and internal controls.

Partner with branch and department leaders to resolve financial questions and support reporting needs.

Resolve advanced discrepanciees involving Accounts Payable

Complete vendor applications and certificate of insurance requests.

Maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, and accuracy in all financial matters.
