Responsibilities:
At Landscape Creations we build the highest quality landscapes, designed by industry leading Landscape Architects, for the most discerning clients. As a Production Superintendent of Estate Care for Landscape Creations, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful operations of a portfolio of accounts including Budget Control, Delivery of Quality Product, Crew Training and Safety, Equipment Allocation and Assignment. Responsibilities include setting the timeline and priorities of Field Teams and overseeing any other aspects of landscape enhancement projects, in accordance with the high standards of LC. To accomplish this goal, we utilize a team structure and approach where Account Managers (AM) and Production Superintendents (PS) work together to ensure that we deliver a quality product in the most efficient and safe manner possible, on time and on budget.
Responsibilities:
- Manage Morning Dispatch of Estate Care crews, ensuring that they have everything they need to deploy quickly and to be successful that day, following the Prior Day Planning Process
- Work with AM to schedule work, optimize crew routes, and manage and hours. Modify routes based on changing variables, as needed
- Schedule recurring work and enhancement projects using work tickets in Aspire. Adjust the schedule as needed based on weather conditions and enhancement project needs
- Ensure that Crew Leaders conduct the daily morning huddle to communicate the safety focus areas and coordination of work
- Ensure Crew Leaders perform and document weekly Tailgate Talks
- Build production plans on each property to ensure maximum efficiency
- Work with AM to organize all the resources needed for enhancement projects and ensure that crews are loaded properly for that day
- Work with AM to oversee the execution of enhancement projects and ensure company and client objectives are met
- Review work performance, and perform analyses of production
- Work with AM to ensure new work gets set up correctly in Aspire (Job Start Process Execution)
- Monitor Daily Crew Performance, approve Time, create Purchase Receipts and follow SOP’s through Aspire Scheduling/Aspire Mobile Time Management
- Perform regular site visits to monitor progress, assessing sites daily or weekly and utilizing Daily Site Check-Up Sheet and reporting any issues to AM through Aspire Site Audits
- Balance time spent in – office verses on-site as needed, work hands - on in the field as needed
- Communicate consistently and frequently regarding schedule status, updates, and changes
- Manage crew equipment inventory and repair issues, anticipating and evaluating equipment needs, reporting issues and monitoring equipment availability using Fleetio
- Create purchase requests for any materials taken from the yard
- Work with the Purchasing Agent to procure bulk and routine items, and to coordinate trucking/delivery
- Attend and participate in regular standing weekly meetings, as needed (ie: AM one-on-one, Weekly Team Meeting) to provide project progress updates and staffing and equipment needs
- Provide ongoing coaching and continuous feedback to team members
- When crews return to the Shop, follow the End of Day Process to prepare for the next day of work
- Track subcontracted work personnel to ensure that invoicing and payments are accurate
- Uphold LC Company Standards regarding Uniforms, Fleet, Equipment, Facility use and care
- Communicate with people outside the organization, representing the organization to clients and partners
- Work with HR, AM, and Fine Gardening and Maintenance Crew Leaders to onboard new hires
- Work with AM to ensure that quality is maintained
- Ensure customer and crew satisfaction & retention
- Comply with all local health and safety laws and regulations at the Shop/yard and on jobsites and ensure that all safety policies are modeled and upheld
- Attend all required safety, skill, and leadership development trainings
- Professionally represent company values, standards, and principles in all interactions and support the company culture as a member of the LC Team
Requirements:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 3 years of proven experience in the landscape/grounds maintenance industry, one of which is in a leadership role
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record
- Valid Driver’s DOT Medical Card
- Location enabled Smartphone for communication and clocking in
- Experience driving small dump truck and enclosed landscape trailer
- Capable of operating required equipment and tools in a safe and responsible manner
- Effective communication skills – must be able to carry out verbal instructions, read labels and signs, complete daily reports to office and/or customers
- Time management skills
- Knowledge of specific materials, methods, tools and equipment required to complete various landscape practices
- Ability to work both independently with little supervision, and as part of a team
- Ability to walk, stand, crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
- Occasional travel for out-of-state projects
- Bilingual Spanish/English
Work Conditions:
- Ability to work with hand tools, power tools, small engine equipment, and materials
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly through an entire work shift
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Requires good manual dexterity
- Excellent stamina is required
- Work near heavy equipment and other vehicles on a regular basis
- Work outdoors in various sometimes extreme conditions including heat and humidity, rain, dust, noise, and cold
