Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Lead Estimator to join our growing commercial paint company. In this pivotal role, you will lead the estimating process for complex commercial construction projects, ensuring accurate cost projections, competitive pricing, and comprehensive bid submissions.
Must be extremely knowledgeable in commercial blueprints and takoffs. The role is essentially reviewing takeoffs and submitting estimates.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of detailed construction estimates by analyzing project plans, specifications, and bid documents.
- Utilize industry-standard estimating software such as OST and Bluebeam to prepare precise cost proposals.
- Conduct thorough quantity takeoffs, cost analysis, and risk assessments to ensure comprehensive bids.
- Oversee the review of contracts, scope of work, and project specifications to align estimates with client expectations.
- Support project management teams with cost control strategies throughout the construction lifecycle.
- Maintain organized records of all estimating activities, bid submissions, and contractual documentation.
Requirements
- Proven experience in commercial paint estimating with a strong background in heavy industrial and commercial projects.
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, OST, and other estimating or project management software tools.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate effectively with subcontractors, vendors, and clients.
- Solid understanding of paint, construction site operations, safety protocols, and construction management principles.
- Knowledge of contracts, scope development, cost control measures, and pricing strategies.
- Excellent communication skills to clearly present estimates and collaborate across teams.
- Construction site experience is highly desirable to better understand on-the-ground realities influencing costs. Pay: $100,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
