Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Owner Operator to join our dynamic transportation team. This role offers the opportunity to operate your own tractor-trailer and deliver freight efficiently across designated routes. As an owner operator, you will be responsible for managing your vehicle, ensuring timely deliveries, and maintaining high safety standards. Your expertise in various types of freight handling and driving will play a vital role in supporting our logistics operations and customer satisfaction. This position is ideal for drivers who thrive on independence, responsibility, and delivering excellence every mile.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport refrigerated trailers, tankers, or other specialized equipment depending on the shipment requirements
- Manage route driving efficiently to meet delivery schedules while maintaining fuel efficiency and vehicle safety
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your truck and trailer to identify maintenance needs or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and warehouse personnel to coordinate pickups and deliveries
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL A license and a clean driving record
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of vehicle controls and handling
- Experience handling various freight types.
- Knowledge of route planning to optimize delivery times and reduce costs
- Ability to perform vehicle inspections diligently and address minor repairs or maintenance needs promptly
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with team members and clients effectively
