We are looking for a warm, patient, and attentive InfantTeacher who understands that caring for infants is more than supervision — it is building trust, security, and meaningful early relationships during the most important stages of development. Our Infant Teachers create a calm and nurturing environment where babies feel safe to explore, grow, and develop at their own pace.
The ideal candidate is responsive, emotionally present, and genuinely enjoys supporting milestones such as tummy time, first words, crawling, walking, self-feeding, sensory exploration, and early social interactions. This role requires strong communication with families, close attention to individual routines, and the ability to provide loving, consistent care throughout the day.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Provide responsive and nurturing care to infants up to 24 months old
- Build trusting relationships with each child through consistent caregiving, eye contact, verbal interaction, cuddling, and emotional support
- Follow individualized feeding, sleeping, and diapering schedules while maintaining proper sanitation procedures
- Support developmental milestones including tummy time, grasping, crawling, standing, walking, language development, and self-help skills
- Create engaging sensory experiences through music, art, movement, books, water play, textures, and age-appropriate materials
- Maintain a calm classroom atmosphere that supports infants’ emotional regulation and sense of security
- Observe children closely and document developmental progress, behaviors, routines, and milestones
- Maintain accurate daily reports regarding bottles, meals, naps, diapering, and classroom experiences
- Ensure children are supervised at all times and maintain safe sleep practices in accordance with licensing regulations
- Sanitize toys, bottles, changing areas, and classroom materials throughout the day
- Communicate openly and professionally with families regarding their child’s day, development, and care needs
- Collaborate with co-teachers to maintain a positive, supportive, and organized classroom environment
- Arrange classroom materials and environments to encourage safe exploration and independent discovery
- Respond sensitively to infants’ cues and needs while promoting secure attachments and healthy social-emotional development
- Follow all California Title 22 Community Care Licensing regulations and center policies at all times
Minimum Qualifications
- Must meet California Title 22 Infant Teacher requirements
- Minimum of 12 ECE units including:
- 3 Infant/Toddler units
- 3 units in Child/Human Growth & Development
- Minimum 6 months experience working with infants and toddlers in a licensed child care setting preferred
- Current Pediatric CPR & First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must meet Community Care Licensing health requirements including immunizations and TB clearance
- Must successfully complete fingerprint clearance/background check
- Ability to safely lift infants and toddlers and actively engage on the floor throughout the day
- Strong communication, patience, teamwork, and classroom management skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate degree or higher in Early Childhood Education or Child Development
- Experience with infant observations, developmental assessments, and emergent curriculum
- Bilingual abilities are a plus
