Duties
- Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as chopping, slicing, marinating, and portioning ingredients
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper food handling and storage practices
- Follow food safety guidelines and ensure compliance with health regulations at all times
- Support menu planning by suggesting new ideas and ensuring ingredient availability
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including knives, ovens, stoves, and other appliances
- Collaborate with team members to deliver exceptional food service experiences for guests or residents
- Assist with catering events or special meal preparations as needed
Experience
- Previous kitchen experience in a restaurant or food service environment is preferred
- Demonstrated culinary experience with a focus on food preparation and cooking techniques
- Familiarity with dietary department procedures or dietary aide experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meal preparation techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience in menu planning or working within the food industry enhances your suitability for this role
