An employee in this position works closely with day camp staff to provide recreational activities for participants. Provides daily guidance to campers and assistance with activities and program planning. The person in this position must be capable of functioning as a team member with other Recreation and Parks staff. Provides supervision of camp. Work is performed under supervision of the Day Camp Director.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Experience working with children 6-12 years old in a recreational setting.

Knowledge of First Aid and CPR.

Must be 18 years or older.

Experience interacting with children with physical and/or intellectual disabilities is a plus.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands refer to the requirements for physical exertion and coordination of limb and body movement.

Performs light to medium work that involves walking or standing virtually all of the time and also involves exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or negligible amount of force to constantly move objects on a regular and recurring basis.

Must be able to perform basic life functions of stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, and hearing.
