Accounting Manager to join its finance leadership team. Backed by a financially strong international parent company, this organization is experiencing significant growth through acquisitions and continued expansion across the U.S.
This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced construction accounting professional who enjoys owning the monthly close process, partnering with operations, leading audits, and mentoring staff while helping build scalable accounting processes within a growing organization.
The Accounting Manager will oversee accounting activities across multiple business entities, manage month-end close, support external audits, supervise staff, and work closely with project management teams to ensure accurate financial reporting for complex construction projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes across multiple operating entities.
- Manage general ledger activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare and review Work-in-Progress (WIP) schedules, including over/under billings and cost-to-complete analysis.
- Oversee job costing activities to ensure accurate project financial reporting.
- Partner with project managers to analyze project performance, budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
- Manage construction billing processes, including:
- AIA Billing
- Progress Billing
- Schedule of Values
- Change Orders
- Contract Billing
- Ensure accurate revenue recognition utilizing Percentage-of-Completion (POC) accounting.
- Coordinate and support multiple external audits while serving as the primary accounting liaison with auditors.
- Review financial statements and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff while helping improve processes and internal controls.
- Assist with ERP utilization, reporting improvements, and operational efficiencies.
- Support special projects, acquisitions, and finance initiatives as the company continues to grow.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience within construction, general contracting, heavy civil, infrastructure, utilities, or similar project-based industries.
- Previous supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong experience with:
- Job Cost Accounting
- Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting
- Cost-to-Complete Analysis
- Percentage-of-Completion Revenue Recognition
- Construction Billing (AIA, Progress Billing, Change Orders, Schedule of Values)
- Experience managing month-end close in a multi-entity environment.
- Experience supporting external audits.
- Strong understanding of GAAP.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Experience with construction ERP systems such as Foundation, Sage 300/Timberline, Viewpoint Vista, CMiC, or similar is preferred.

Pay: $90,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
