Accounting Specialist
Honolulu, HI | Full-Time | Temp-to-Hire (if applicable) OR Direct Hire
Bishop & Company is seeking an experienced
Accounting Specialist to support a growing organization. This role will work closely with senior finance leadership and is responsible for day-to-day accounting operations, including payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and financial reconciliations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage full-cycle accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
- Process invoices, track payments, and resolve billing discrepancies
- Communicate with vendors and clients regarding invoicing and payment inquiries
- Prepare and reconcile bank statements and financial records
- Maintain accuracy of the general ledger
- Process employee payroll and review timesheets
- Receive and post payments (check, credit card, EFT)
- Assist with preparation of monthly financial statements
- Ensure accurate and organized financial documentation
- Perform additional duties as needed
Qualifications
- 2–3+ years of experience in A/P, A/R, and/or payroll processing
- Strong proficiency in QuickBooks and/or other ERP systems (NetSuite, Sage, etc.)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
- Experience with payroll systems and processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent organization and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
Education
- High School diploma or equivalent required
- Some college coursework in Accounting or related field preferred
Work Schedule
- Full-time, standard business hours
- Occasional evening or weekend work as needed
