The program director is responsible for overall management of the WLH Ready Road Jumpstart Prep kindergarten program; and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide general oversight of program implementation
- Create lesson plans for kindergarten curriculum
- Conduct kindergarten class from instructional lesson plan accordingly (until program increase)
- Review appropriate documentation and records
- Maintain documentation to support on-going programmatic review
- Develop a process for monthly collection of required documentation necessary for reporting to DPI
- Maintain daily attendance for students enrolled
- Maintain students' initial assessments and on-going documentation for school purposes
- Select staff that can meet the demands of operating a kindergarten program
- Maintain and communicate to staff or substitutes clear understanding of the daily activities and lessons when neccessry
- Communicate goals and objectives of the program to staff, volunteers, parents and community members
- Develop and communicate written policies and procedures to address staff expectations, program guidelines, and requirements for students health and safety
- Maintain procedures to ensure high quality performance
- Submit quarterly and annual reports to the department of public instruction as required
- Cultivate and maintains posititive relationships with internal and external stakeolders
- Establish plans to achieve goals set by Wanda's Little Hands Educational Center, Inc.
- Analyze and evaluate independently curriculum, guidelines, and procedures to concur for next program year
- To ensure family centered practices in all progra activities to establish parent communication
- To ensure clear, open, and frequent communication with staff to keep updated information with policy or program changes
- To assure the order, cleanliness, and safety of the classroom, restrooms, and playground
- To obtain professional training including annual training requiremnts
- To always maintain professional approach both with parents/staff
- To keep all staff informed of N.C. Child Care rules and regulations
- To always keep open communication with Executive Director and Program Director of Compliance of any concerns or problems
- To convey with Executive Director weekly (each Friday) if applicable for review of program implementation, concerns, or any changes; all correspondence will be reviewed prior to going out or implemented
Education and Experience
An undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university is required. The Program Director must possess above skills, knowledge and qualities. Preferbly licensed teacher that have taught kindergarten.

Pay: $24.00 - $26.00 per hour
