Job Title: President's Office Event Assistant
Effective Date: 8/3/2026
Reports to: Associate Chief of Staff

Rate of Pay: Maryland Minimum Wage
FSLA Status: Non-Exempt
Location of Position: Roj Student Center, McDaniel College, 2 College Hill, Westminster, MD
Duration of Appointment: August 5, 2026 to May 25, 2027
Schedule: Schedule is at discretion of supervisor
Evaluation Procedures: Student workers are evaluated on a continuous basis.
Scope: Provide administrative and event support to the President's Office by assisting with the planning, coordination, and execution of presidential events and special projects.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with the preparation of presidential events, meetings, and special programs.
- Prepare event materials including nametags, place cards, event signage, and gift bags.
- Assist with room setup, décor, and event logistics.
- Help maintain event timelines, planning checklists, and RSVP tracking.
- Assemble event packets and other printed materials.
- Conduct research for vendors, venues, gifts, or event resources as requested.
- Deliver or collect materials across campus and assist with event-related errands.
- Help inventory and organize event supplies and storage areas.
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, data entry, copying, scanning, and other office support.
- Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Current undergraduate student at McDaniel College.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Professional demeanor with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion.
- Interest in event planning preferred.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Characteristics
- This position requires sitting for extended periods while completing administrative work, as well as standing and walking during event setup and execution. Duties include occasional bending, lifting, carrying, and moving event materials weighing up to 20 pounds. The position requires frequent use of a computer and office equipment and may involve working indoors and outdoors during campus events.
