Performs and/or assists with computerized tomography (CT) and radiographic examinations and procedures under the direction of a Radiologist or delegating practitioner to produce exams which are used in medical diagnosis to locate injuries, foreign bodies, pathological conditions or lesions within the body.
Provides services to support inpatient, ED, and outpatient imaging with the ability to perform specialty-imaging procedures.
Works in conjunction with the Sedation and Anesthesia departments to facilitate and ensure timely placement of add-on/urgent examinations.
Assures customer satisfaction (interdepartmental, community and patient/family) with services.
Assists and supports students and new hire orientation and training.
Evaluates CT and Radiographic images for technical quality.
Educates patients and families.
Follows established policies, procedures, exam protocols and regulations to promote patient safety and ensure a safe work environment.
Performs daily radiation QA to ensure that the guidelines of ALARA are followed.
Ensures continuing educations requirements
Seeks guidance from management for unusual or unanticipated circumstances that require deviation from financial/operational policies and standards of practice.
May be required to take charge/supervisory responsibilities.
Supports successful onboarding, orientations, training of new Radiology modality team members.
Performs other duties as assigned.
