Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a genuine love for animals and a strong commitment to providing high-quality care for dogs and other pets. You will be responsible for the daily care, handling, and well-being of animals in our kennel facility.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily care for dogs and other animals, including feeding, grooming, bathing, exercising & training.
- Maintain cleanliness of kennels and play areas to ensure a safe and healthy environment.
- Monitor the health and behavior of animals, reporting any concerns to management.
- Assist with animal restraint during grooming as needed.
- Support training programs for dogs as required, utilizing positive reinforcement techniques.
- Perform heavy lifting when necessary, including moving supplies or assisting with larger animals.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure all animals receive the best possible care.
Requirements
- Previous experience in animal handling or care is preferred (kennel experience is a plus).
- Familiarity with dog training techniques and veterinary practices is highly desirable.
- Experience as an assistant, or groomer is advantageous.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and maintain physical stamina throughout the workday.
- A genuine passion for animal welfare and commitment to providing exceptional care.
