Job Overview
Southeast Recycling Group is seeking a dependable, detail-oriented Office Administrator / Accounting Specialist to join our team at our Rock Hill, SC scrap metal recycling facility.
This is a full-time, in-person position (Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM) responsible for supporting daily accounting and administrative operations. The ideal candidate is organized, self-motivated, enjoys problem-solving, and can thrive in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and process inbound and outbound scale tickets for accuracy
- Verify weights, material classifications, pricing, and customer/vendor information
- Update and maintain pricing for scrap purchases and sales
- Process customer payments and maintain accurate payment records
- Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Process cash, ACH, and check transactions in accordance with company policies
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for reporting and compliance purposes
- Provide exceptional customer service to customers, vendors, and drivers
- Answer phones and assist visitors entering the facility
- Support daily office operations and administrative functions as needed
- Identify discrepancies and resolve issues in a timely manner
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred
- Prior accounting, bookkeeping, accounts payable, accounts receivable, or office administration experience preferred
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and general office software
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills
- Dependable, trustworthy, and punctual
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced industrial environment

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour
