Position Summary
As a Direct Support Professional (DSP), you'll support adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities in a residential setting by promoting independence, assisting with daily living activities, encouraging community involvement, and providing person-centered care.
What You'll Do
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, grooming, hygiene, and toileting.
- Prepare meals and assist with housekeeping and laundry.
- Transport residents to appointments, work, and community outings.
- Support medication administration and delegated nursing tasks (when delegated).
- Follow Individual Support Plans (ISP), Positive Behavior Support Plans (PBSP), and healthcare plans.
- Complete electronic documentation and report changes in health or behavior.
- Promote independence, daily living skills, and meaningful community participation.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive home environment.
Qualifications
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required. Applicants actively working toward their GED may be considered in accordance with Washington State DDA/DDCS requirements.
- Valid Washington State driver's license with current auto insurance.
- Ability to pass a Washington State criminal background check.
- Reliable, compassionate, professional, and dependable.
- Caregiving experience is helpful but not required.
Priority Hiring – Healthcare Credentialed Applicants
We are urgently hiring applicants who hold one of the following active healthcare credentials and are eligible for Washington State Nurse Delegation:
Preferred Credential (One Required for Priority Consideration)
- Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR)
- Home Care Aide (HCA)
- Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
- Medical Assistant (MA)
- Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
- Registered Nurse (RN)
- Other qualifying healthcare credential eligible for Washington State Nurse Delegation
Preferred Certifications
- 40- or 75-Hour Long-Term Care Worker Core Training
- 9-Hour Nurse Delegation Core Training
- Current CPR/First Aid Certification

Columbia Cove provides paid training to help eligible employees obtain their Nursing Assistant Registered (NAR) credential, complete the required Long-Term Care Worker Core Training, CPR/First Aid, and become eligible for Nurse Delegation. Schedules Available
- 12-hour Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
- 12-hour Night Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- Sunday–Wednesday or Wednesday–Saturday schedules (including rotating or split Wednesdays)
- Swing shifts available based on program needs
- Full-time (30–40 hours/week) and part-time opportunities available
