Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and dynamic Activities Director to oversee and coordinate engaging programs and events within our skilled nursing facility located in. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing residents' quality of life through meaningful activities, fostering social interaction, and promoting overall well-being. This role requires a compassionate individual with strong organizational skills, creativity, and the ability to build rapport with seniors. The Activities Director will play a vital role in developing tailored programs that meet the diverse needs of our residents, including those with memory care requirements, Alzheimer's disease, and other geriatric conditions.
Responsibilities
- Plan, organize, and implement a variety of recreational activities, events, and therapeutic programs that promote socialization, mental stimulation, and physical activity for residents.
- Collaborate with nursing staff and other healthcare professionals to develop individualized activity plans that accommodate residents’ medical conditions and personal preferences.
- Coordinate resident outings, special events, and community engagement initiatives to foster a vibrant living environment.
- Maintain detailed records of resident participation, preferences, and progress to inform ongoing program development.
- Foster strong relationships with residents by building rapport and ensuring activities are inclusive, enjoyable, and meaningful.
- Manage scheduling of activities to ensure consistent delivery while adapting to changing resident needs or unforeseen circumstances.
- Supervise volunteers, interns, or activity staff members to ensure high-quality program execution and team cohesion.
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for planning documentation, resident tracking, and communication with team members and families.
Skills
- Proven experience in event planning within senior living facilities or assisted living environments.
- Extensive knowledge of assisted living care practices, long-term care operations, and geriatrics.
- Familiarity with Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care, memory care programs, and recreational therapy techniques.
- Strong communication skills for engaging residents effectively and coordinating with families and staff.
- Ability to develop innovative programs tailored to residents’ cognitive abilities and physical limitations.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or special needs in a geriatric setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications for scheduling, documentation, and reporting purposes.
- Demonstrated leadership skills in managing teams or volunteers while fostering a positive environment.
- Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple programs simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Knowledge of aging issues counseling techniques to support residents’ emotional well-being.

Pay: $22.00 - $28.00 per hour
