Job Summary
1099 CDL Class A Container driver
We are seeking a professional and reliable Commercial Driver's License A Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves driving automatic trucks. The ideal candidate will have a strong driving record, experience with freight delivery, and the ability to safely pickup and deliver cargo across diverse routes. Duties
- Safely operate commercial truck with automatic transmission across designated routes, ensuring timely deliveries and pickups
- Drive various types of trailers including refrigerated, dry van and containers.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, vehicle inspections, and cargo documentation in compliance with DOT regulations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance standards are met
- Plan routes efficiently to optimize delivery schedules while adhering to safety protocols
- Assist in securing loads for transport and verify cargo integrity before departure
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during routes
Experience
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with clean driving record
- Proven experience operating tractor-trailers-18 Months+
- Familiarity with automatic transmission trucks
- Experience handling containers
- Prior delivery driver experience involving freight transportation is highly desirable
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards for commercial driving is required
- Knowledge of how to navigate inside the ports
