American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with ARRT RT(R) certification and experience in radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures for a 40-hour per week travel contract in Kentucky.

Interventional Radiology department in an acute care hospital setting

Performs radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures, computer processing, and related imaging techniques

Day shift schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

40 hours per week, 8 hours per day

Call, weekend, and holiday coverage required

Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program
-
Current ARRT certification in Radiography - RT(R)
-
Current BLS
-
State-specific radiation license required if applicable (Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy)

Minimum of 1 year of relevant diagnostic imaging experience

Ability to perform peripheral venipuncture

Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent attention to detail

Responsibilities include verifying patient orders and history, performing and documenting time-out procedures for invasive procedures, and continuously monitoring patients throughout exams

Assists radiologists and authorized providers with exams and helps establish imaging protocols
-
Participates in training new employees on equipment functionality and exam protocols, and may supervise imaging students on clinical rotation

Applies ALARA principles and radiation protection measures for patients and self

Documents all patient care incidents, medications, contrast reactions, and procedures in the electronic health record

Coordinates patient exams with transport and nursing units to ensure efficient daily patient flow
