- Have you been working as veterinary technician and are considering the next step in your career?
- Would you appreciate a workplace that promotes education, mental health, wellness, inclusivity, and diversity?
- Are you looking for an organization with a clearly defined purpose, mission, and set of values?
If so, we may have the role for you!
About Us
Southeast Veterinary Neurology (SEVN) is one of the United States’ largest independently and veterinarian owned neurology groups. Neurology isn’t just something we offer. We are a single-specialty practice exclusively treating diseases of the brain, spinal cord, nerves, and muscles all day, every day.
Our mission is to keep families together by providing second chances to pets with neurological disease and hope to the people who love them through compassionate neurological care to patients, empathetic service to pet parents, and humble expertise to the veterinary community.
Over the next decade, our goal is to keep 70,000 families whole, ensuring their beloved pets not only survive but thrive despite neurological disease; provide the ultimate workplace experience for our team, being known for our culture of growth, collaboration, and support; and become the undisputed leader in veterinary neurology, pushing the boundaries of our field and redefining the standards of care.
This is where you come in. To help us accomplish our mission and goals, we are looking for talented, motivated, and humble team players to join
About You
Are you self-driven and eager to get things done, yet patient and methodical? Do you hold yourself to a high standard and take pride in your attention to detail? Do you welcome feedback and direction and relish in information and learning? Do you want to pet all the dogs and cats? Specialty is an area you might have considered working in before, and you might even feel a little bit intimidated by the thought of making such a move. Don’t let this be the reason not to apply.
If you find yourself answering yes to these questions, consider SEVN as the next step in your career.
This role is a great role for anybody that has worked in a veterinary assistant or customer service role in the veterinary world that would like to begin some advancement into the clinical setting.
About The Role
Because we are single-specialty, things are much more orderly and less chaotic than other hospitals. This gives us the opportunity to train you intensively and you the chance to get really good at what you do.
Most importantly, the work you’ll do at Southeast Veterinary Neurology matters, because we do amazing things, like help paralyzed pets walk again!
We are looking to fill the following shift: Thursday - Sunday with shifts varying betwee 7:30a-6p and 9a -7:30p
Our full time daytime Veterinary Technician’s focus will be:
- Preparing and administering medications (oral and injectable) and completing specific treatments for each patient as directed.
- Monitoring all hospitalized patients throughout the day and relaying information properly to doctors about patient status.
- Assist with admission of new patients by placing IV catheters, collecting blood/urine as needed for testing.
- Taking digital x-rays and assisting veterinary neurologists with MRI
One of our core values is availability because some cases may require us to stay a few hours extra to take care of that pet. We may also need to come in after-hours for an emergency case that just can’t wait until the morning. When this happens, of course, you will be compensated accordingly for the additional hours.
We put it upfront though because if this is something you are not up for, then veterinary neurology probably isn’t the niche of veterinary technician work for you.
