Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Auto Shop Foreman/Mechanic to lead our automotive service team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee daily shop operations, ensure high-quality vehicle repairs, and deliver exceptional customer service. Duties
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the automotive repair team, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all service work
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using schematics and automotive electrical systems to identify issues accurately
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, diesel engines, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and auto body components
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and other maintenance tools to execute repairs efficiently
- Conduct wheel alignments, vehicle maintenance inspections, and ensure proper functioning of automotive electrical systems
- Interpret technical manuals, schematics, and repair procedures to troubleshoot complex mechanical problems
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and dealership or shop policies while delivering excellent customer service
- Mentor junior technicians, promote best practices in automotive repair, and uphold high quality standards
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in dealership or automotive repair environments
- Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, schematics interpretation, and electrical systems troubleshooting
- Hands-on experience with ADAS calibration, auto body repair techniques, and welding is highly desirable
- Familiarity with GM vehicles or similar brands is a plus but not required
- Demonstrated ability to repair diesel engines, perform powertrain repairs, and conduct wheel alignments effectively
- Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by experience using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly and professionally
