About the Role
The Assistant Quality Assurance Manager will support the Quality Assurance Manager in overseeing quality systems and food safety programs within a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring compliance with regulatory, customer, and company standards while supervising QA personnel, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with Production and Operations teams to maintain product quality.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in managing Quality Assurance and Food Safety operations within the manufacturing facility.
Ensure compliance with BRC, FDA, customer, and company quality standards.
Supervise, coach, and train Quality Assurance team members.
Conduct internal audits and review quality documentation and records.
Investigate customer complaints, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Oversee food safety programs, including sanitation, pest control, allergen management, supplier approval, and environmental monitoring.
Develop, update, and improve Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
Collaborate closely with Production and Operations teams to maintain product quality and food safety standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality systems and operational performance.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Food Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.
Minimum of 2 years of Quality Assurance or Food Safety management experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment.
Strong knowledge of Food Safety, Quality Systems, BRC, HACCP, FDA regulations, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
Experience conducting audits, investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
Excellent communication, leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Availability to work the 2nd Shift (3:00 PM – 12:00 AM).
Compensation & Benefits
