MENOMINEE ELEMENTARY SCHOOL
QUALIFICATIONS:
1. As partners in the instructional process, paraprofessionals who work in programs supported with Title I funds
must meet one of the following requirements:
a. Complete at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (equal to 60 semester hours)*;
or
b. Obtain an associate's degree (or higher); or
c. Meet a rigorous standard of quality and demonstrate, through passage of an approved formal state
academic assessment in the following areas: Knowledge of, and the ability to assist in, instructing reading,
writing, and mathematics.
2. Ability to work with adults and students of various personalities and academic performance levels.
3. Provide and maintain positive relations with students, staff and community.
4. Proven track record or regular and reliable attendance.
REPORTS TO: Building Principal
JOB GOAL: Assist teachers in providing a well organized, smoothly functioning class environment in which
students can take full advantage of instructional programming and available resource materials.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with classroom support/activities under the supervision of a licensed classroom teacher.
2. Work with individual students and small groups of students to reinforce essential academic skills.
3. Support and guide independent, enrichment, and remedial tasks set up and assigned by the teacher.
4. Implement interventions such as Fast Forward, Read Live, Rocket Math, and Moby Max.
5. Administer district benchmark assessments for NWEA and Acadience with fidelity.
6. Transition between multiple classroom settings on a daily basis.
7. Maintain high levels of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
8. Perform other duties as assigned by the building principal.
9. Regular and reliable attendance.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated as per Paraprofessional Aides work agreement and Board’s policy of
Evaluation of Support Service Personnel.
