As Regional Medical Director, you will provide strategic oversight of clinical operations while ensuring consistent, high-quality, patient-centered care across your assigned region.
Responsibilities include:
Provide executive oversight for multiple outpatient primary care centers
Partner with executive leadership on strategic growth initiatives and operational planning
Standardize clinical workflows, policies, and best practices across all locations
Develop and implement clinical guidelines, protocols, and care pathways
Monitor provider productivity, quality metrics, and operational performance
Analyze regional performance data and present reports to executive leadership
Ensure OSHA, infection control, emergency preparedness, accreditation, and regulatory compliance across all regional clinics
Participate in annual budgeting, strategic planning, and regional operational initiatives
This role is ideal for a physician executive with extensive experience leading value-based healthcare initiatives and population health programs.
Primary areas of focus include:
Driving HEDIS, MIPS, RAF, and shared savings performance
Population health management
Risk adjustment accuracy and clinical documentation improvement
Utilization management and cost-effective care delivery
Disease management program development
Clinical quality improvement initiatives
Care coordination and evidence-based medicine
Transitioning care delivery from volume-based to value-based reimbursement models
Collaborating with managed care organizations and health plans to achieve quality, utilization, and financial goals

The Regional Medical Director will oversee operations across multiple primary care centers while ensuring consistency in clinical quality and operational excellence.

Evaluate clinic operations to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
Review financial, operational, and quality performance metrics
Promote consistency in patient care delivery across all regional locations
Partner with executive leadership to support organizational growth and expansion
Serve as the physician leader responsible for building, mentoring, and developing high-performing provider teams throughout the region.
Responsibilities include:
Recruit, interview, and onboard physicians and advanced practice providers
Supervise Local Medical Directors
Provide professional oversight for Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants
Conduct provider performance evaluations using productivity and quality benchmarks
Lead physician orientation, continuing education, and professional development initiatives
Mentor physicians and advanced practice providers
Address provider performance concerns, physician behavior, impairment issues, and patient complaints
Review patient satisfaction surveys and implement quality improvement initiatives
Develop improvement plans following adverse clinical events when appropriate
This is a 100% administrative executive leadership position with no clinical duties or direct patient care responsibilities .

MD or DO from an accredited medical school
Board Certified in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine
Unrestricted physician medical license
Minimum of 5 years of clinical leadership experience , with strong preference for Regional Medical Director, Multi-Site Medical Director, Corporate Medical Director, or similar executive leadership experience
Proven success leading value-based care programs, including Medicare Advantage, Managed Care, ACOs, or other risk-bearing contracts
Experience managing physicians across multiple clinic locations
Experience working with multicultural patient populations
Demonstrated ability to analyze healthcare data, including HEDIS, MIPS, RAF scores, utilization trends, and population health metrics
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and change management skills
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred
