Access Control Specialist – Houston, TX 77064

Effex Management Solutions is hiring an Access Control Specialist to join our security team in Houston! If you're detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and take pride in keeping a facility safe and organized, we want to meet you.
What You'll Do:
- Issue, activate, deactivate, and maintain employee/contractor ID badges and biometric records
- Manage access control systems (permissions, door groups, visitor access)
- Conduct compliance audits for badge usage and access rights
- Handle onboarding/offboarding access requests
- Troubleshoot badge and biometric issues
- Support security investigations involving access records
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in access control, badging, security operations, or administrative support in a security setting
- Ability to pass a criminal background check (no felonies) and pre-employment drug screening
- Reliable transportation
- Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, access control software, databases)
- Sharp attention to detail and great customer service skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Level 3 DPS License
- Experience with Lenel, AMAG, Honeywell, or similar systems
- Familiarity with biometric systems
- Security or administrative certification
