Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and experienced Commercial Driver's License (CDL) A Owner Operator to join our dynamic transportation team. In this role, you will operate your own tractor-trailer to deliver freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. Your expertise in various types of cargo and driving conditions will ensure timely deliveries while maintaining the highest safety standards. Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers with manual transmission across local, regional, or long-haul routes, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, ensuring cargo integrity and security
- Transport refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks depending on assigned routes and cargo types
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of your vehicle to identify maintenance needs and ensure compliance with safety standards
- Manage route driving efficiently, optimizing delivery schedules for timely arrivals and departures
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, mileage, cargo details, and delivery documentation in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues promptly
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial driving with a valid CDL A license and a clean driving record
- Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks with a strong understanding of vehicle handling
- Familiarity with various trailer types including refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, and roll-off trucks
- Ability to load & unload freight safely using forklifts or other equipment as needed
- Experience with route driving and managing delivery schedules efficiently
- Knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols for truck driving operations
- Strong physical stamina for handling freight loadings and extended periods on the road
