Convergence Financial seeks a Head of Trading to join our Columbia office. This role works closely with the Director of Investments to lead portfolio implementation and build out the firm's trading infrastructure during an active growth phase. Success in this position requires a builder mentality, strong attention to detail, self-motivation, effective communication, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate thinks beyond trade entry — bringing expertise in execution quality, model integrity, and process design to a platform with significant runway.
Assignments and Performance Expectations
The Head of Trading is responsible for ensuring the completion of all daily account management tasks in coordination with the firm's operations department and other members of the trading team. Areas of emphasis include:
- Full lifecycle trade execution across custodians, including trade reconciliation and settlement oversight
- Tax-aware portfolio rebalancing and liquidity forecasting at scale
- Execution quality and slippage management
- Designing, implementing, and improving trading processes and automation
- Portfolio model governance and strategy implementation integrity
- Leading discussions with members of the trading team and advisors regarding account-level trading or holding specifications
Qualifications
- Attention to detail and accuracy when processing trades and maintaining records
- Strong grasp of execution quality, tax-lot strategy, and rebalancing systems
- Experience with portfolio management, rebalancing, or trading systems such as Black Diamond, Orion, iRebal, Tamarac, Wealthscape, or similar platforms
- Experience working in a registered investment adviser (RIA), broker-dealer, trust company, or similar financial services environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, including lookup functions, advanced formulas, sorting/filtering, and data management tasks; advanced skills including VBA preferred
- Demonstrated experience designing or improving trading infrastructure, workflows, or automation
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build professional relationships with advisors and team members
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work on-site in Columbia, MO, manage multiple tasks, and prioritize in a fast-paced setting
- 7+ years of professional experience in trading or investment operations
- Authorized to work in the United States
Compensation & Benefits
Convergence Financial offers a competitive compensation package commensurate with experience, including:
- Base salary range of $90,000–$120,000
