Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Journeyman Electrician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a wide range of electrical systems across industrial and commercial settings. Duties
- Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair residential and commercial electrical systems using electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Perform high-voltage electrical wiring and low-voltage system installations in accordance with NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams to accurately execute projects.
- Conduct electrical diagnostics using tools such as ohmmeters, multimeters, and other testing equipment to identify faults or system inefficiencies.
- Follow electrical safety procedures rigorously to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and team members.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment effectively on construction sites or renovation projects.
- Troubleshoot complex electrical systems efficiently to minimize downtime and optimize performance.
- Ensure all work complies with local electrical codes, NEC (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70 standards, and other relevant regulations.
- Collaborate with project managers, contractors, and clients to coordinate installation schedules and project milestones.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Journeyman Electrician with a strong background in residential and commercial electrical systems.
- Valid journeyman electrician license or certification recognized by local authorities.
- Extensive knowledge of NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NEC standards, and local electrical codes.
- Demonstrated ability to read electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams accurately.
- Experience with commercial electrical systems including high-voltage wiring, automation controls, and low-voltage systems.
- Skilled in troubleshooting electrical systems using diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and multimeters.
- Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation technology is highly desirable.
- Construction site experience with renovation projects is preferred; handyman experience is a plus.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety procedures to prevent accidents or hazards on the job site.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
