American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Ortho/Neuro Unit Nights position requiring a WI or compact RN license and NIHSS certification.
-
Work in the Ortho/Neuro Unit of a hospital and trauma center
-
Patient population includes med-surg orthopedic and neurology cases
-
13-week travel assignment
-
Night shift schedule from 6:30 PM to 7 AM
-
12-hour shifts with every other weekend required
-
Floating to other units may be required
-
Active WI RN license (Standard or Compact) currently in hand
-
Current certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)

Education verification required for consideration

Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to care for patients
-
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques, policies, and standards of care
-
Document patient care according to established standards
-
Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy, including patient and family instruction
-
Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance
-
Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments in support of the patient's longitudinal plan of care

Utilize critical thinking regarding patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
-
Holiday coverage required in addition to every other weekend shifts
