JOB SUMMARY: Under direct supervision of the Insurance and Reimbursement Lead, this position is responsible for obtaining insurance verification, pre-authorizations, and/or pre-determinations, as well as collecting surgery deposits. The selected candidate should possess a friendly personality as they will interact daily with patients and insurance companies as a representative of this practice.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Medical terminology including ICD-10 and CPT coding;
- Health information management systems (HIPPA regulations);
- Operation of personal computer including Microsoft Software applications, scheduling software, spreadsheet tools, medical and electronic medical record systems, and scanning systems.
QUALIFICATIONS – Required:
- High school diploma – or GED
- One (1) year experience in the healthcare industry required
- Precertification experience for outpatient surgeries
- eCW experience preferred
- Attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively with compassion
