Evening Manager/Resident Assistant (Full-Time 3:30-11:30 PM)

As a full-time Resident Assistant Manager, you will be a key leader in our shelter, providing essential support and guidance to pregnant women and mothers with young children. Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Resident Support: Serve as a role model and leader, offering emotional support, advocacy, and resources to help residents achieve stability and independence. Build trusting relationships with residents, providing guidance and mentorship through trauma-informed care principles.
- Management and Oversight: Oversee day-to-day shelter operations, ensuring a safe, clean, and organized environment for residents. Supervise and coordinate shelter activities, manage shared spaces, and conduct regular room checks, ensuring the highest standards of facility care.
- Crisis Management and Problem-Solving: Take a proactive approach to crisis management, responding swiftly to emergencies and conflicts. Lead efforts to resolve challenges while prioritizing the safety and well-being of all residents.
- Team Collaboration and Leadership: Work closely with a diverse team, including case managers and external partners, to provide holistic support to residents. Lead and foster a collaborative team environment, encouraging open communication and mutual support.
- Meal Planning and Team Development: Plan, prepare, and serve meals while creating opportunities for residents to build life skills and engage in teamwork. Provide leadership and guidance during meal preparation, helping to create a supportive, skill-building atmosphere.
- Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of resident interactions, progress, and incidents, in alignment with organizational policies. Regularly report on key performance metrics to leadership.
- Training and Development: Participate in regular training and development opportunities to strengthen your leadership skills. Stay current with best practices in trauma-informed care, crisis management, and organizational procedures.
Qualifications:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree in human services or a related field preferred.
- Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in a supportive, service-oriented role. Prior experience in shelter management or working with vulnerable populations is strongly preferred. Proven leadership or supervisory experience is a plus.
- Skills:
- Strong understanding and practical application of trauma-informed care principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and conflict resolution skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple responsibilities and make decisions in a fast-paced, emotionally charged environment.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to maintain high standards of care and facility management.
